Post by HeatherH » Tue Mar 29, 2005 1:48 pm

Is there a proper way to send info to someone via email? For example a page from a magazine or a copy of a cert. How should I save this info before I send?
Thanks

Hello Heather,

I don't think there is a proper way as I'm sure everyone has there favourites.
I always send scanned colour picture files, by attachment, as 'jpegs'
If they are black and white then as 'tif'.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Nelmit.I have been following this advice but there are times when it takes forever for the file to send.I was wondering if there was a better/faster way that others use?

Heather

If copying documents, consider sending them as PDF files. There are free programmes on Internet to achieve this. See TS brochure as example.

Alternatively, compress files into ZIP files. Smaller filesize is better in most cases.

Hi Heather!

For photos or certificates that I have in "My Pictures", I use Picasa2. e-mail,
There is a free download at www.picasa.com

It's great for people like me who haven't yet figured out how the world of tiff, jpeg etc. works. Very quick too.

Enjoy your day.

Thank you all.I've successfully scanned and sent a magazine article just this morning without slowing down my comp for even a few minutes.
