I think it was on Rootsweb that I found the link - but I can't be sure as I surf for hours doing my family history! Just found out that one of my ancestors in Peterhead was called Presley - sound familiar?
Lovely to be here and I have already found some great interesting posts after just browsing for five minutes.

Hi Clydsdale,

Welcome to talkingscot.

Did you know that Presley now has it's own tartan? I saw it in a tartan shop in Aberdeen last year, lovely tartan.

Your mention of a Presley tartan took me back a few years Ina - to Edinburgh. I was looking in one of the shops for a kilt - and as my Buchanan tartan is not one I would choose - I looked for one that took my fancy. Would you believe the one I chose was the Royal Canadian Air Force? It was then that I realised that tartans could be made up for everyone - not just the clans - which can only be a good thing. I have a mental picture of a pilot looping the loop wearing his kilt
Cheers.

Hi Clydesdale,

Glad you found a tartan that you liked. Here in the USA every state has their own tartan. I recently purchased a United States Marine tartan tie for my son (a former marine).
