hello
im having real problems finding out were my grandmother was born i was told manchester her name was ada mary bassindale but i have looked and nearly all the bassindale came from yorkshire,she was born 1869and died 1948 in liverpool,she married samuel mellor in 1893 in bootle liverpool im also having the same problem getting abirth cert for my grandfather to.can anyone help please im going round in circles thank you .joyce

Hi Joyce,

There are three Adas in England 1881. The 1st looks best agewise - please note surname spellings.
But there are quite a few Samuel Mellors to look at.

In the 1901 census, there's a Sam & Ada Mellor living in Walton on the Hill.
Sam (31) born in Bootle & Ada (31) born Manchester
