great uncle John .....

Hi

Looking for great uncle John Menzies who was born in England 1859. I thought he may have been born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne but have checked the site and he's not there. He was in Edinburgh 2 years later and his parents married there in 1865. All the other children were born Edinburgh. His parents are Peter Menzies and Elizabeth Dalgiesh. Has anyone any ideas?

If his parents didn't marry until 1865, and he was born 6 years before that, he could be under another surname.
Either his mother's maiden name or if shewas married before under her first married name.

He is in the the 1871 census as Memzies and 3 other children were born before their parents married although they always claimed to be married when the cildren were born and had their fathers name.
