Irish birthplace
Could someone please help me the word after Sarah Brady. I think it's the town.

Re: Irish birthplace
It’s probably a townland rather than a town. Most Irish people gave their townland (an Irish land unit) as their place of birth. Going by the first spelling it looks like Lisnevena. The second looks a bit like Lisnenare or Lisnevare. Irish place names were often mis-spelled in records in other jurisdictions.
There’s a Lisnevagh in Co Carlow, Lisnevenagh in Co Antrim and Lisnenan in Co. Donegal. They are about the closest I can find. Unfortunately there were no Brady households in any of those in the 1901 census or in Griffiths Valuation c 1860. So I can't say with any confidence that any of them may be the right location.

Re: Irish birthplace
Thanks Elaine,
This would have been in County Antrim. Baptism record for twins born to John Moran and Sarah Brady.

Re: Irish birthplace
Well Lisnevenagh seems a possibility then. That’s halfway between Antrim & Ballymena. RC parish of Braid, which unfortunately doesn’t have any baptism records earlier than 1878. However I think earlier records may be in the parish of Drummaul. The parish boundaries were re-drawn around 1878. Drummaul’s records start in 1825 and are on Ancestry. You haven’t given any dates so I don’t know what era you are looking at. Did John & Sarah marry in Ireland or Scotland, and if so roughly when?

Can it be Lismorane? That is in County Mayo.
