Hello again all,
Late last year fellow member "Elwyn 1" advised me re. an earlier query about my search for some Irish records. He proved invaluable in helping me solve a long time puzzle. Following on from his suggestions I have now found an additional family member from days long past. One Bernard McEntee, born circa 1845, is a newly found brother of my great grandfather. He died on January 16th 1908 in Omagh Asylum. I am hoping his asylum records may be available as they may shed a little more light as far as my research goes. Can anybody advise if they would be available and how to go about obtaining them?
Kind regards,
Bill

Re: Omagh Asylum records
Omagh Asylum records are in PRONI in Belfast. They are not on-line and so a personal visit is required to view them (or you might pay a Belfast based researcher to do that for you).
The records are in a series under references starting HOS/29/1. For example HOS/29/1/3/6 is an index of cases admitted c 1883 to 1921. You can search on the PRONI website to see what else they have (there are about 30 files for Omagh Asylum).
