The town of Edinburgh, NC doesn’t even have a traffic light. At least they didn’t five years ago. It’s on Hiway 401 just south west of Fayetteville, NC., not far from the South Carolina border. When I was a lad I was taught that some of our adventurous forefathers traveled to a far off land called Scot and founded a city they named after one of the explorer’s hometown of Edinburgh, NC. It’s called revisionist history!
There is also an Edinburgh Ohio and Edinburgh, Indiana.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a safe day.

There are no stupid questions on this DG You wouldn't believe what you will regularly see on other DGs e.g. "Where is Edinburgh?" but even were such a question asked on this DG it would be answered politely Big Wullie
You've all passed the test with flying colours! And I've learned of the existance of many Edinburghs, with their pronunciation! :D

By the way Edinburgh à la française is "Edimbourg". I trained there, at the Western General Hospital.

Hope you've had an enjoyable day.

Heather

Glad you had an enjoyable time. Lucky you getting the Broons and Oor Wullie. Will you bring them along on the 29th so that I can have a good read?

Yes, I'll happily compare notes on my Renfrewshire Walkers and Browns. Can it wait though till the beginning of January? Between visitors, a second Christmas celebration today with my grandchildren and travelling to England :!: on the 29th to visit various relatives, I'll be giving research a wee rest.
Hoping though to be able to borrow my nephews computer for the 29th.
