Hi all,
Just wondering where i would obtain information re: Naturalization records? My g.father (Lithuanian) was always being checked on by the authorities since he entered Scotland back in 1910 (illegal alien) for many, many years. I am unsure as to whether he ever became a British Citizen, but if he did i would like to know how i'd go about getting information about this?
Thanks for any help and advice
Katie

Hi Katie
See http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/cata ... fletID=243 and work your way through the leaflet.
Alternatively go straight to the catalogue search page at http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/search.asp and search on his name, - but note that John Smith as a search term must be written as John AND Smith (the caps for AND are deliberate).
The complication can be the spelling of his name.

Re: Naturalization
That second address above should have taken you there, - let's try again ...... http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/cata ... ch.asp?j=1 , - it's the ""Word or phrase" field in which you type in the name (remember the AND!).mcblondie wrote:Hi Davie,
