Thanks Alan,
I have seen most of these over the passed few years. The Newfoundland Almanac is new though. Will have a closer look at it later today!
Looks like we're headed for round two of storms this evening. Guess I'll grab my laptop and the cats and head to the basement with my husband! Hopefully, the weather will settle down after this.

Re: Scottish Post-Office Directories online.
Thanks Alan,
Very useful links, found my gr grandfather and eventually my grandfather in Paisley. The reason it was difficult to find my grandfather was due to the text version (and the searchable text in the PDF) being raw OCR which has not been corrected or edited and can look a bit like Ancestry . Once you realize this you can adapt your search strategy to cope.

I’m glad everyone is enjoying this one.
The directory database is really rocketing along. They have added about 30 since I made the original posting. New ones include Motherwell, Moray, Bute, Kilmarnock and extras for Dundee, Perth etc.
New additions will show up on this page http://www.archive.org/search.php?query ... publicdate
Or you can subscribe to an RSS feed as shown here and receive notice of any NLS material added to the IA. http://www.archive.org/services/collect ... ofscotland

For those searching Glasgow there is also a Lookup Index for Names, Streets and Trades.

It's not pretty but could save quite a bit of time

Greetings All.
Thanks for the links. I had access to broadband today, and had a ball reading through the directories. A great insight into the life and times, [1820's] with the occasional familiar name.

Thank you so much for sharing these links to the Scottish Post-Office Directories online! It's great to see such a vast collection of directories available at the Internet Archive. I appreciate you taking the time to compile and share these resources with us.Currie wrote: ↑Sun Oct 24, 2010 7:32 amScottish Post-Office Directories online.
A spectacular array of Scottish Post-office Directories is now online at the Internet Archive. This website has been helpful for us as we discuss it in our coworking space. Click this link https://intersect.au/. The digitisation appears to have been funded by National Library of Scotland. If you can’t see yours here try a search.

These directories can be incredibly valuable for research, genealogy, or simply exploring the history of various Scottish locations. Having them easily accessible online makes it so much more convenient for people to delve into the past and discover interesting facts about their local areas.
I'll definitely be checking out the directory for my hometown. Even if I don't find any direct connections, I'm sure it will be fascinating to see how things have changed over the years.
Thanks again for sharing these links. Your contribution is much appreciated!
