Does anyone know where I get an extract from the Greenock telegraph or the Glasgow Express 17.01.1917?
I can't find any online
Thanks

The Watt Library in Greenock has the Greenock telegraph Archives but they are not online and the library is currently closed.
Have a look at https://www.inverclyde.gov.uk/community ... aper-index they have put some information there.

Are you certain about the second newspapers title ?
If it was the "Port Glasgow Express and Observer" rather than the Glasgow Express, archives are via the same link as above

There is a Greenock Telegraph and Clyde Shipping newspaper in Findmypast (British newspapers), ah but only 1900 - 1909. Maybe more dates will be in the pipeline?
The Port Glasgow Express is in Findmypast for 1917 72 articles for 17 January as well

You can get a free trial subscription if those are the only records you want. Unless you have had a trial before.
