I'm wondering how familiar you are with the streets of Providence. My grandparents James and Isabella Clerihew made a one way trip to the US for their honeymoon in 1910. They stayed with my grandfather's Uncle Alexander Longmuir at 8 Norwich Ave. then moved to 60 Davis in 1910. They were at 20 Hollis when their first child arrived stillborn in 1912 and were at 83 Willow St. in 1914 when their second child George was born. He died 9 months later in Feb. of 1915. If you're familiar with any of these streets, can you give a guess as to which cemetery the children might be buried in? I know this might be the needle in a haystack question! My grandparents moved to a suburb of Detroit sometime before July of 1918. My father was born in Providence in 1916 and his younger sister was born in the Detroit area in July of 1918.

Hi Carol,

Oh yeah now I remember all these streets  Can you double check George's dc for a street address? What's the street address on your father's birth cert?

I called the archives today the person who normally helps is on vacation, but I can send in an e-mail request and it will take a few weeks to get a reply back.

Regards
Marilyn

Hi Marilyn,

George's dc is 83 Willow St. I don't think we have a birth cert. for my Dad, but I'll call my sister tomorrow afternoon--she works nights.

I'm pretty sure that 83 Willow St. is the last place they lived in Providence. I can't remember coming across any other address after that one.

Hi Marilyn,

Did the state archives ever send you the 1915 Census papers for James and Isabella Clerihew?

Hi Carol,

What are you a mind reader :) I was just about to contact you. Can you pm me your home address, they're too dark to scan. It will take forever to download on dial-up.

Regards
Marilyn
