Obituary Galveston Daily News, 28 & 29 May, 1994. Also a picture? Seems to be linked somehow to ancestry.com but free trial available.

I got the free trial to work. Robert came to Glaveston in 1968 after having worked for the Port of Freetown, Sierra Leone in West Africa for 13 years. He worked for the Galveston Wharves and served as Harbormaster and Assistant Director of Operations. He retired in 1984. He was survived by daughter Jennifer Reis of Chicago, IL and sister Anna Blair of Glasgow, Scotland. Memorials were to be sent to American Cancer Society. He died at his residence in Glaveston.

Thanks once more Carol, I'd only tried it on my tablet, I'll try again on the PC next week.

That all ties in with family lore, though no-one could remember the child's name.
