Annie,

How did you come out on the other kids? I read this then noticed that it was from a couple years back.

Did you find the <name edited> Blair listed in the Social Security Death Index? He was born <date edited>1925 in Canada and died in 1997 in Plymouth, Michigan which is a suburb of Detroit.

Carol

Hi Carol, I have just found that info! I think I've narrowed down <name edited> Mr Hockeberry, I've found one born in the same generation and in the same county. Do you know how to find US marriages in the period 1930-1960?

A :D

Ooops! Sorry about that!

We aren't supposed to be dealing with the search for living relatives here!

Hi Marilyn,

That's what I did.

On the US marriages question: There is no single way to research them because the records are held by the individual states. If you google for each state plus vital records, you should come up with the official address as well as any non-governmental entities. Ohio, for example, has placed it's pre-1954 records with the Ohio Historical Society.

Hi Carol,

If you know what city or town they lived in Ohio, then try contacting the Town Clerk rather then the Vital Records. Almost always cheaper to get the cert from the clerk.
