Hi Marilyn,

Your the Best!!!

It's very strange about the marriage thing, but gets stranger--I started looking at their daughter and her family this morning. I have them on the 1930 census, but none of the three kids shows up on the Rhode Island births list any which way that I search for them! I'll pm you the details tomorrow. I'm keeping my time on the computer limited to about ten minutes per session. Also, there's a chance that one or two of the kids might still be living.

Alexander's birthdate is still incorrect, but maybe that's the best his foster parents could come up with. His mother died of typhoid fever in Aberdeen so I imagine that the situation was chaotic to say the least.

Will get back to you soon!

Thanks another million!
Carol :D

Hi Carol,

Considering your computer issues at the moment, would it be better if I just dropped these copies by snail mail to ya?

So the plot thickens

Looking forward to receiving the additional information and who knows, maybe I can reconnect you with this family. [-o<

Hmm, didn't remember that Alexander was an orphan  Could be another jr. senior moment for me

Hi Marilyn,

The computer goes to Chattanooga for a check-up next Tuesday so if it isn't too much trouble could snail mail the certificates to me?

Alexander wasn't an orphan. His father kept the three older children with him in Aberdeen until they were grown, but sent the baby out to his brother William's farm in Banffshire to be raised. Alexander shows up on the 1861 and 1871 census records at his correct age both times which is one reason why I know that the birthdate is incorrect. Maybe he changed it so his wife's family wouldn't know that he was nine years older than her?!

Hi Carol,

I just checked the superpages for the last name in Warwick and there's two listings, here see for yourself

http://find.person.superpages.com/

When I googled Warwick online, a few hits for the twice weekly newspaper
The Warwick Beacon popped up. The Beacon has an obit section, but I didn't see an obit archive?

http://www.warwickonline.com/

Any chance you wrote down the date of death for Ralph? If so, I can easily get a copy from our local library.

Regards
Marilyn

Hi Marilyn,

I was just printing out the things that I had saved from yesterday and realized that I had Ralph Sr. and Ralph Jr. mixed up so my possibilty in SC is someone else and both Ralphs are deceased.

Ralph Jr. died 29 Sep 1991.

Stuart died 28 May 2003.

Hi Carol,

So is it Ralph or Stuart that passed in Rhode Island?

I don't know. The snippet that I saw just said "son of Ralph H. L*** and Eleanor Longmuir".
