Andy, how did you manage to find that photo of Poplar Street? Is there a collection of NY photographs of that period somewhere on the net? I have Morrisons in New York around that time.

Going back to Ancestry, Hannah was 3 years old, and was born in Derry, Ireland.

All the best,

Hi Y'all,

Thanks for the help. Hannah's relationship to Head is "Relation" born in Derry. I originally thought Hannah's age was "5" but, on closer inspection, it is probably "3" .

While far from uniform, I'm basing my initial "M" on two Matthews down the page, their surname McIlice (probably should be McAleece). The occupations listed Machinist plus various examples from the page before and after.

The last letter could equally be R, N or W based on loads of examples.

A Scotland's People search using *LL* (the only VERY clear letters) give her name as Mullen.

I've hunted for Hannah in Irish records using birth dates from 1895 - 1899 under Mullen, Mallen, Mellon, Millen, Miller, Moller ............ Found ONE in Londonderry but she died in 1900!!!! Even tried Donegal.
Searching for Keogh, Kelly, Fitzgerald, Riddell, Stewart, Wilson, McQuilkin, Lynch, Boyle, Cairney, Ross, King, McIlravey, McCurdy, Drennan and Woods (to name but a few).

Also looking for any information on Rathlin Island, County Antrim, Ireland.

Thanks Andy. I'll give that a try. I have tried Google maps and Satellite view before but of course the localities have been modernised in many cases.
