Hi all,
Just got the link for this website this morning. It is a State of Michigan website and has the death records for 1897-1920 available FREE! I've already printed out 11 of them and cleared up two major mysteries!
If you have relatives who vanished into thin air--especially if they were connected to the mining industry--it might be worth your time to take a look. The site is very easy to use too!

That’s really excellent Carol. The full certificate for free. I wish there were a lot more like that.
There’s plenty of info on the Death Certificates as well.
You were chasing Detroit if I remember correctly.

This is a great site for those looking for Michiganders. Not only does it have the death records, but also some land records, naturalization records and war records and many others.
As the records are free, it might be of help if you don't know where your family ended up.
I had been on this site before, but it is much improved now.
