Hi
You haven't specified what information you are looking for in Ontario. Do you know when she emigrated and approx when she married?

Hi Karie

Jean Mclaren emigrated aug 1926 from Glasgow on ship Athenia and arrived Aug 29th .Im trying to find her death and marriage certificates but dont know where to start. She went to Rosary Hall 478 Albert street Ottowa Ontario to work as a domestic.I dont know when she married but do know that she had a son.She must have married between 1926 and 1931.Marguerite

Hi Marguerite
Unfortunately, the marriage registers for Ontario only go to 1923 and because of privacy issues there is not a record for births in that time frame of 1926-1931. There are a number of Powell listings at Beechwood cemetary in Carleton County, your Jean is under a burial permit. You could write to the cemetary and request information or you could write to the Carleton County Genealogical Society to see if they can assist. Do you have anything further such as husband's name or the name of their son?

Hi Marguerite
Yes the reference numbers all relate to how you can order a copy of the death entry from a LDS centre. You probably have a Latter Day Saints research centre near you, you can order the film. The entry should give you her spouse's name and her residence at the date of death etc. When you have that info then you can probably follow up with data on her husband and child.
