West Virginia vital records going online

Post by speleobat2 » Thu Sep 03, 2009 10:52 pm

Came across this by accident:

http://www.wvculture.org/vrr/va_select.aspx

West Virginia is putting some of it's vital records online for free! Go to the website and read the article explaining what they are doing for the details of the dates available etc. Looks like it's going to be fairly generous with a 50 year cut off for some of them.

Looking for: Clerihew, Longmuir/Longmore, Chalmers, Milne, Barclay in Newhills,

Thanks for the link, Carol...what a fantastic find. They even give you the images...and they're so clear!

Now why couldn't any of my ancestors have lived in West Virginia :?: :(

Anne H

Hi Carol,

Maybe it's me, but that link doesn't appear to be working - just wanted a little nosey around to see whether I could find any strays

Hi Ann,

Don't know what the problem is. It was working fine last evening, now I can't get it to come up either. Maybe a bug in their system?

I'll try it again later.

Carol :(

Hi Ann & Carol,

Funny that...it's still working fine for me. Mind you, it was taking a wee bit time to move yesterday, but I suppose it was just taking it's time to find the several pages that came up in the search.

Try again, Ann. :)

Anne H

Hi both Ann and Anne!

The site is working again for me. Maybe it was just down for maintenence earlier.

It is a little slow, but then, I have dial-up. Everything is a little slow!
