David et al.
I don't know what the post was that caused offence. but I am becoming a bit feart to post anything.
Having said that I appreciate what TS does. I have been helped immeasurably especially in direction to where I can find information.
I try to look at TS daily and can't say I have read anything that I would consider abusive, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatning,or sexually oriented.
I am always being accused of being naive and certainly see the best of people.

Very sadly, the post from Davie in question made references to the deaths in Iraq of women and children; the inappropriate nature of the UK's government's involvement in Iraq in the first place; and ended up with the ludicrous suggestion that the UK government might bomb women and children in Glasgow. In summary, highly political, and extremely controversial.
Sorry, but however valid Davie's views might or might not be, this is a genealogical discussion group with the well established protocol that areas such as religion and politics, unless the posts are purely in a historical context, are not permitted.
As in, sorry folks!, but there's no discussion on the matter of admissability of such highly controversial posts on TS, - they will be zapped by the AdminGroup members whenever they occur.
Many of us have the very unfortunate experience of how initially subject focused DGs end up being destroyed by such off topic debates, however well moderated.
As the TSAG's statement above says, there's plenty DGs on the www where where such discussion is welcome, but, please, please, not on TS.
In such a context it is therefore understandable, I hope, that references to or discussion of the involvement of the USA and the UK in Iraq is not a subject that is in any way appropriate for TalkingScot.
But, please, please, please dinna be feart tae post on TalkingScot in relation to genealogical and family history research in a Scottish context, including the realities of the society of the times, in both political, religious and other terms

David of course is quite correct,
It is just that I wonder what planet some other people live on.
I have been astounded at the amount of punters frae the varying boards oan about the losses that the Sunday Mail and SP must have taken on this wee free credits venture,
Here is a wee conundrum fawr yeese:
Mr Scot owns a rock venue with a 50,000 seating capacity.
At a concert performed by the Wyrd Sisters, he sold 30,000 tickets at £6 a go.
With 10 minutes remaining of the concert, he opened the gates and let another 20,000 punters in for free.
How much money did Mr Scot lose on the deal?
