Ships from Manchester? To Austraila .....

Post by angel » Mon Dec 26, 2005 4:03 pm

Hello

I have a copy of a photograph which has on the back News Chronicle (Manchester) copywright. This was a photograph of my Aunt and cousin on board a ship heading for Austraila.

I am trying to find out the name of the ship and where it would have went in Austraila. They stayed in Glasgow and left in 1948 for a new life. They stayed there a year during that time she met and married her second husband who also came from Glasgow. They then moved to New Zealand.

If they were assisted immigrants they may be in the national archives lists. Go to www.naa.gov.au - record search - search as a guest
