Hello to all the TalkingScot members, I am a new member to the site and what I have seen has been great. The list of topics & the replies have indeed boosted my confidence, so I shall be looking for some help in the future & I am sure help will be on hand. :D

hello lesley, thank you for your prompt response.my apologies for not including the fact that i am from peterhead, but have lived in england since1953.
the duff's as far as i have researched are also from peterhead.
you will have to make allowances for us senior citizens,still learning as i go along.

My Duffs are from Easter Ross - Tarbat area mostly but then spread over Easter Ross then many of them moved south to Edinburgh and Glasgow. Don't know if there would be any conection?

Hi LesleyB,you have the advantage over me regarding location EASTER ROSS? Ihave to hold my head in shame & admit that I don't know where that is, that's shocking to say the least, so I can only assume that the possibility of there being a connection is very slim.Sorry about that .

Hello LesleyB,thanks for the geography input, with regard to the Duff connection from my side is that my direct line uncle was married to a Barbra Duff she was born 1906 Peterhead.I haven't as you will appreciate researched too far into this line however the earlieast recorde that I have is C1860 a George Duff, married to Annie O'Brien d.o.b.1862 both born in Peterhead. that i'm afraid is all that I have, should I come across any more info. will let you know staight away.
