Passeger list for hamilton coogan .....

Post by karenc » Sun Jul 16, 2006 7:47 pm

Hi,

Im looking for information for a Hamilton Coogan, who was also known as harry. he was born in 1923 in scotland and emigrated to australia when he was about 2 or 3, with a catherine coogan.

I just wondered if anyone can tell me how i would go about trying to find him on a passenger list. i dont know which ship he went on and im not even sure where he arrived, i think it may have been queensland somewhere.

If anyone can help or has any suggestions i would be greatful to know.

Karen

Hi Karen
Not sure if this is any help but there are some links to web sites dealing with passenger lists here:
http://talkingscot.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3510
and some of these sites have further links to others ...but I suspect your dates are later then is likely to be covered by any of the web sites.

I hope someone else may be able to give you some other ideas of how to go about finding out.

Best wishes
Lesley

Karen:

You could search these sites.

http://naa12.naa.gov.au/Login.htm

http://www.list.jaunay.com/ausnzpassengers/

http://www.naa.gov.au/the_collection/recordsearch.html

Also, try searching under Catherine's maiden surname, just in case she did not assume the surname of Hamilton's father?

Wishing you well,
