Hi David

(from another Aussie in Qld :D )

Victorian indexes are online - pay to view - index is relatively inexpensive - certificates are $17.50 to download (about 7 pounds)

Indexes are also available on CD
I'm not sure there would be alot of information on the death certificate for Moderate Brown (no mention of Robert) - the index specifies mother and father unknown, place Heidleberg (surburb of Melbourne) age 29, year 1927, reg no 5944.

If he had married & his wife were the informant, this would be detailed on the certificate, together with any children of the couple.
1914-1920 are the latest births available - can see no father Moderate - or Robert M.

There is a marriage in 1924
Robert Moderato Brown to Flor Amy Robertson 1924 Ref 8534.

The site for access to indexes/certificates has an enormously long link
so follow the links from here

There is some online immigration information for the period of your interest here
http://proarchives.imagineering.com.au/ ... earchid=23

Most likely person that I saw

BROWN R M MR 22 MAR 1922 EURIPIDES B 951 003

but there are many Browns. There is often not much more information on the fiche, although details of the ship & where it is from are usually given. They are available at the Vic Archives & many state libraries in Australia. I don't know if the LDS centres have access to same. The Qld state library is currently closed for a couple of months.

Hi trish

thanks for that will probably get one my relatives to do it from their end , i think the 1924 marriage looks the best bet then we can work from there.

Finally after much asking and reminding my Aussie Cousins have delivered the certificates

Both the ones mentioned above are the my great Uncle Robert.

His marriage states a middle name for his father i never new about but even better despite being married for only 3 years he had 2 children , so hopefully we can track them down

Hi David

So pleased it worked out - it is not easy to find details of later BDM information in Australia, but there are other sources which your Oz cousins will no doubt follow

Good luck with it

Trish
