If one exists it will be here

www.bdm.nsw.gov.au - follow the family history links

Civil reg started 1856 in NSW so it will be a burial record if it exists

Trish

A quick look reveals the record does exist - very little detail on the index - If you wanted to see the detail (if any) the cheapest method is via a transcription agent

Thanks Trish1,

I'll try and find the registration number that appears to be required for a transcript.

It's definitely there :D ref V1796744 4/1796 SKIRVING WILLIAM

He gets a mention here as one of the first Scottish Martyrs
http://www.convictcentral.com/

First Scottish Martyrs
The First Scottish Martyrs were five men who supported the ideals of the French Revolution - liberty, equality and fraternity. They were transported to New South Wales in 1794. Their names were Maurice Magarot, Thomas Muir, Thomas Fyshe Palmer, William Skirving and Joseph Gerrald.

which is interesting as I may be related to Thomas Muir & I have never noticed this before!

Hi Trish,

I'd have thought that William & Thomas would rate a mention on the manifest of the ship which they were transported in May 1794, the 'Surprize' and that dropped them off in Sydney in October '94.
