David Buchanan and Janet Denniston
They married 26 Jan 1806 at Campsie. That is all I found on Janet. No parents , birth or death date. I have found 8 children. First born 1806 (no name), Jean 1812, John Denniston 1812, William 1819, David 1821 (assume he did not live long), Ellinder 1822, David 1826 and my 3 times g grand mother ( Married to Andrew Menzies, have had a old post on him).
I found David Buchanan's death on SP, 5 Jun 1866, Coxithill, Burgh, Stirling. He was 90 years old, and a widower. His parents was Alex Buchanan and Janet Brown. I think the word under his name is acriculturde. I spent some time on SP looking for more info. Would love to know more about theire parents and siblings.
By the way Happy 15 Birthday

Hi Heidihei,
Can you scan (or photograph) that part of the certificate and upload it here. At a best guess, that will be something like agricultural lab [labourer].
All the best,
AndrewP

In a picture editing program, either crop it to reduce the area of it, or go to "Save as" and see if that offers you an option to compress the file.
If you are unsure, feel free to send it as it is to talkings@talkingscot.com and I can do the needful and upload it here.

Re: David Buchanan and Janet Denniston
There's a death of a Janet Buchanan/DENNISTOUN at Cadder in 1856 aged 71, looking at that should give her parents' names.
That would tie in with the 1851 census I found on freecen:
You didn't mention your Grandmother's name in the original post? so Margaret in the census above is yet another child.
SP show the family still in Cadder in 1861 [it's not on freecen yet] David and a William at least
BUCHANAN DAVID 1861 M 81 626/2 1/ 3 Cadder (Eastern District) Lanark
They were there in 1841 too:
What makes you think the 1866 death is your David? was it a son or daughter who signed it? the ages just seem a bit too far out, and there's no son called Alexander.
East Muckcroft farm is still there and still seems to be a farm - though the dwelling house looks new.
look at it here:

slide the blue button to see modern map.

Re: David Buchanan and Janet Denniston
My thoughts are that the first box info is:
All the best,
AndrewP
- David Buchanan
Agriculture
Widower of
Janet Denniston
- Agricultural
Farmer
in first column
(signed by the examiner)
All the best,
AndrewP

Oh what swirly writing!
I agree with Andrew that the Agricul... has been changed to Farmer by the examiner in the margin.
certainly looks like your David, his wife's name and that of his son are right - though is that really 90 for his age?
Coxet/Coxit Hill was a farm, now under a block of flats on Macdonald drive! It was still a farm into the 1950's
