Yes, still here!

My closest Rawer relation is Margaret Rawer wife of William Brand of Birse. Margaret was the daughter of Alexander Rawer and Mary Ross.

If you have access to Ancestry, the details are all in our tree if you search for Rawer you should find it, it’s the Barclay/Brand tree.

Would be interested to hear what info you have. As has been suggested earlier in this thread my understanding is the few Rawers that there were had only daughters and therefore the name died out in the late 90s or early 00’s in North east Scotland.

Hi Guys,

I came across an Anton family in Ayrshire - apparently they came down into the lowlands from Aberdeenshire, where the name originates. Seems like the NE has many of these unusual names! The German philosopher Immanuel Kant was also said to descend from a merchant from NE Scotland called Cant, who migrated to N Germany...
