By the way, if anyone is tempted to discard those certs that don't appear to concern your family, DON'T. I'm so glad I kept them all in their special file.
Recently, an Australian distant cousin sent me the tree his family had been working on since the 1900s. You can't imagine how many of the "not my family" certificates proved to be "my extended family".

yep, I've saved mine to a folder called "not mine yet" on my computer. So many of the names & the areas are familiar to me but I just don't see any connection yet.
For me in particular, Saltburn was such a small place, full of Munros & Ross' & my nana was one of 16 children, it doesn't take too big a leap to imagine all the unknown rellies around there, especially girls who marry & change their names.........although just to confuse things, a lot of my munro's married munro's & ross' married ross'..........
Oh the fun of it all, certainly keeps your mind ticking over

Hi Hil
If you fancy typing up all the "extras" you have found there is a web site I came across some years ago which does just what you were suggesting. Its at:
http://www.sctbdm.com/
I've never found any of my lot on it, but its worth a look. You are right, it would be a great idea to type up all the extra info and its something I've often thought of doing too but, well, just never got around to it... like lots of other things.....
Best wishes
Lesley
