Re: search on searches
Hello all,
"search on searches" was an agenda item at the latest User Group meeting (14 Sep - minutes yet to appear). I do not think that I am letting out a secret to say that the User Group is currently testing this feature.
However, there is not yet a planned release date.
Regards,
John

Hi all
I have a system that works for me, not sure how time consuming you might think that it sounds, but ...
When I realised that I was duplicating some of my searches, I started a spreadsheet (Works), and had a column for Type (eg Births, Marriages etc). I also have columns for names searched, with the surname first, as well as one for dates (eg 1750 - 1780 or the whole span from 1553 - 1854, while also adding a column for specific regions that I might have searched, or not. Once this is done I can 'Sort' the spreadsheet by Type (BDM), Name then date and find that if I have a search that I think I already have done, I check this first.
I must amdit that I started this soon after I started researching my tree and using Scotlands People, and as such I update this information when I have a page or two, so that it doesn't take too much time. It also means that any new details that I add, can be put in order at the click of a button!
Not sure how I would feel about having to do this for 40+ pages though!!
