Hi guys,
I'm back. Sorry I haven't been "in" on these conversations. Cath & pinkshoes - you are lucky to get a reply from SP. I started the ball rolling on this one - and still haven't had a reply directly from SP. My problem still hasn't been fixed. Hopefully it will be soon though.

Sorry to hear you have not received satisfactory replies from SP. Both times I wrote to them using the "Contact Form", I got personal replies which, though they could not solve the image viewing problem with ActiveX, showed that they were at least trying.

Are we sure its not a problem with SP2?

Dennis, it seems to me that at present no one yet knows whether the problem is, as you suggest, SP2 or a possible update from Microsoft, or some other bug that has yet to be found. I am certainly not enough of an expert to judge this, and the fact that a solution has not been found seems to suggest that this is not an easily fixed difficulty.

In the meantime, I'm on Java, and trying to keep smiling! :)

Folks,

I had the exact same problem months ago - I think it coincided with SP2. Luckily DavidWW sorted the problem for me by explaining about Direct Download which is working fine except I haven't figured out how to print the image when I see it - I know, I know, I'm technically challenged according to the sometimes resident teenager in this house! But for my money, SP2 was the problem. I had a span new PC on which I don't allow automatic updates and had changed nothing because I hadn't had time!

Hi guys,

I got contact from Richard @ SP to check out a test site - everything was fine and this was the reply I got back from him:-

"Many thanks for the prompt reply. I thought you might be able to use the test site OK. Unfortunately, in this particular instance, we still have to work out the resolution for the main production site as basically both sites use similar ActiveX 'bits'".

SP are trying to sort out the problem and I noticed today when I logged in that there was this message on "latest information" -

"PLANNED UPGRADES THIS AFTERNOON

Some users of Microsoft Internet Explorer are having problems viewing images on our website by using our ActiveX control. We are currently investigating why this might be the case.

Meanwhile if you are one such customer then please switch to either the Java Viewer or the Direct Download option for accessing images. You may change your viewer type by selecting your preferred viewing method on the "My Details" page. Remember to click "Update Details" once you have made your choice.

If you do encounter this problem, the images are still available from your 'Viewed Images' section for no extra cost".

Hopefully it won't be too long before it is fully operational again.
