illegible certificate.

A marriage certificate I paid five credits to view is almost completely illegible. I cannot go to Register House and this certificate is vital to my research. Can I do anything?

Hi Mairi
If it is illegible due to being a poor quality image, then fill in a contact form on the SP website.

If it is illegible due to the registrar having atrocious handwriting, upload it to our gallery and we will see what we can transcribe!

Lesley, thank you very much for your instant reply. What a service!

Have followed the link to poor image as opposed to the 'difficult to read handwriting' one.

Hopefully someone can send me the details.

Many thanks and Merry Christmas,

Mairi

Hi Mairi,

SP are very good on the matter of illegible images. Their speed and efficiency in providing an alternative "view" have impressed me on more than a few occasions.
