Hi,

Don't know if I am missing something or not.

When I change my setting in my details to direct download then I go back to try and save a marriage certificate I am being asked for another 5 credits, yet I have already paid.

Is this right?

all the best

No, that does not sound right at all; if you've already paid for image, then I would have thought you have paid to see the image, no matter how you choose to view the image. I'd send a contact form to SP explaining the problem.

Best wishes
Lesley

Hello Helen,

I’m just guessing here but is it possible you’re clicking the back button on your browser and going back to the same page you viewed previously rather than a new SP page asking for more credits.

You could check to see if it shows up in your Viewed Images list and if so save it from there. (refresh the page if necessary)

Changing viewing methods can be confusing sometimes.

Alan

arrrrgh

'The image is however opening from your account at this side. You arecurrently using direct download as your viewer. There is no technology onour side involved with using direct download. When you change your viewer todirect download you will be shown a link to a file instead of a picture. When you click on this link, your computer will decide what to do with thefile. It will either open it in the current browser window, open it in a newbrowser window, try to open it in a separate application, prompt you todownload the file to somewhere or automatically download the file. If noneof these happen then it is either because your computer does not have aviewer for that type of file, your browser is unable to view that type offile or your security settings are such not to let you download files. Thebest thing I can suggest is that when you come to a page with a link forthe image, right-click on the image and choose 'Save-as'. You can now choosewhere to save the image an then open it at a later date with whicheverapplication you prefer.'

This is to response I have had from Gros General.

Its all gobilygook to me. I have tried it and it does not work. I am still having the same problem. I have also tried Alans suggestion-no luck.

It does not make sense as I have downloaded stuff in the past without any problems.

whoops, silly me.

I just tried again, there was a link there for the marriage certificate, when I clicked on it I was given the option to open or save. So I have now managed to save it.

I feel really silly. Sorry to everyone who has responded to my message.

That’s okay Helen,

I have the same trouble myself with new things like that. It's easy to miss seeing links on crowded pages.
