Hi Cathy
This census should be available on Scotlands People. Have you looked there already? If you can't find her there I'm sure someone will be able to point you in the right direction.

If you know where she died and what surname she is likely to be listed under, you should be able to find her, given that you seem to know where she was in 1901.

Best wishes
Lesley

Hello Cathy,

It may be a good idea to repost this in the Institution section. Otherwise if the opportunity does arise for someone to do lookups at Barnhill yours could be overlooked.

All the best,
Alan

I'm still kicking myself for not putting 2 and 2 together and realising at the time that Barnhill meant Poorhouse.... whit an eejit

I'm sure there will be other opportunties.

Best wishes

Just saw the message although I know it is some time ago. This page may be of some interest - http://gdl.cdlr.strath.ac.uk/subjects/poorhouses.html

If you have not seen these yet - which by now you probably have :-
