Image Format

I like the TIF image format used on SP as it's quality is great while keeping the file size down. My only gripe is when using the images with genealogy packages such as Family Tree Maker, etc. From my own experience they do not use the same compression and the image quality is lost.

Is there a fix for this or is there something else I should be doing? I've tried converting the images but with no luck. I still get the loss in quality.

Have you discovered a "fix" for your TIF images?
