SP problems - 'previous searches' and 'viewed images'
Hi all,
With the 'new look' SP some problems seem to have arisen. Here's what I've found:
1. Viewed images - some images seem to have disappeared and are coming up 'no image'. These seem to be Angus OPR images only. (Fortunately my five are downloaded.)
2. OPR 'Previous searches' - it seems to have lost a search of mine in Wigtownshire, which is coming up as two empty pages. So I'm now trying to check all my previous searches... (Conducting the same search again shows 28 records, but I don't want to pay again. Found this by chance this morning as I'd wanted to get one of the records from that search.)
3. Catholic Records in 'previous searches' - it wants payment for almost all my CPR previously-paid searches in Dundee, and takes me to the payment screen when I click on them
I've filled in some contact forms for SP about this. Thought I should warn people here.
Need to check everything now
Jenny

Re: SP problems - 'previous searches' and 'viewed images'
I have just tried the "new" site and found it totally useless
Every time I do a search it logs me off so cannot search anything, all my old searches are now gone- good job I had downloaded all the images I wanted.
I contacted them a few days ago and to date nothing from them yet again - their service has proved to be at best pretty pathetic.

Re: SP problems - 'previous searches' and 'viewed images'
Sorry to hear you have had so many problems! I should make plain that MOST of my searches are accessible and almost all the images are there (though I've downloaded them anyway) - it's only a few things that have disappeared, and these are specifically Angus OPR images, Inch OPR searches (I've found a few more than I'd reported to them!), and some CPR searches. (Though I still have half of my searches to check.)
That aside, the new site looks good and I can navigate it easily. Everything else is there and accessible. So my comment isn't a general one about the site, but a specific one about some problems.
It did throw me off this afternoon, and I hope it was because they were fixing some things - haven't yet been back, as I did some writing and some gardening then!

I have found it logging me off on occasions too & other times it's fine.
I haven't downloaded many of my searches -that I'learn me as my Granny used to say.
On the positive side I have been able to search on first name only & may have found an adopted child's birth.

Re: SP problems - 'previous searches' and 'viewed images'
Hi
See my post on another thread from Friday last week - I also have a problem with "previous searches" and "viewed images".
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=15379&start=15
As an update to that - I have had further contact from SP every day this week - as we have worked our way through which images in particular are now showing "no image" instead of "view" and about which searches are now showing "no Matches" instead of listing the relevant items. Considering the volume of queries they must be dealing with given the relaunch of the site and all the new people signing up in the last week I was surprised that they manage to get back to me each time within a matter of hours. It has largely been OPR records which have been affected - over 300 inages and over 100 searches - short term they have given me 200 credits to obtain access to any items I need at present (although it would take around 1800 credits to restore all items as before) until they can hopefully find an answer to the problem. I do have saved and printed copies of the images and the searches - but frequently use the online ones on SP for speed of access as well.
Will advise on further communicatrions from SP on this problem in due course.
Susan.

It's good that they are talking to you and hope it all goes well.
I use Firefox and it may have been that was the problem, today I used IE8 and all was fine.
I went back on to Firefox and again all seams to be fine and all my previous searches and images are accessable
Still no contact from SP
Unfortuneatly my s are still there and unlikely to be resolved.

Re: SP problems - 'previous searches' and 'viewed images'
Hello,
I have just experienced an issue with the site this evening. All was fine this morning when I was on, but then tonight I was unable to view any of my images except LDS census. Well over 200 purchased images showing "no image."
What a stresser! There were no notices on the main page of the site that they were experiencing any problems but they are today. A few clicks here and there, then it said the site was unavailble. Some more time passed, site back up and the images are back. Clicked to view a few, then the images are all gone again. Some images at times when it does come back are showing a jumbled image. I am really hoping the site is just getting some maintenance done.
I think it may be best to download all viewed images, for now anyway until the site is stable. I know now, I really should have done that in the first place. Am in the process now of exporting all of my searches also, to pdf and excel just to be safe. I think this will take hours.
Kathleen
edit: And now the site is down again. (10:31pm EST) Will try it back in the morning.

Re: SP problems - 'previous searches' and 'viewed images'
Hi Kathleen and all,
Although I am sure that SP will eventually resolve these problems, I would advise any SP user to download their certificates when they first view them and store them on their own computer system. That way, regardless of any SP problems you should have a full set of the certificates that you have paid for easily retrievable at any time, and under your control.
All the best,
AndrewP

Re: SP problems - 'previous searches' and 'viewed images'
Hi all,
I just discovered a page of OPR searches that I did in 2009 and paid for all 6 entries which are now showing as needing to be paid for before I can view them again.
Question: Do I have to enter each one separately on the contact form or is it possible to copy and paste the information?
I also noticed that the problem description box on the contact form has shrunk just when my problems have grown!

Re: SP problems - 'previous searches' and 'viewed images'
Just went to download my 2x great Grand Fathers 2nd marriage from my timeline, only to find that there are NO IMAGES at all in my timeline. Have sent them a contact form, but I am not a "Happy Chappy" the thought of trying to find all these records again make my stomach churn
