Recent unread queries

Post by doddie » Thu Jun 02, 2011 12:33 pm

Is there a facility on TalkingScot to check new topics that have just come in across all the boards and that may not have been read by a particular member, or do you have to check all the various boards separately?

Hi Doddie,

Once you log in, you should be taken to the the main forum board. At the top of the listing of Board Names (left hand side) there is an option 'View New Posts'. Clicking this should take you to a screen showing all the threads where there are new posts since you last logged in.

If your PC is set up to always remember your password and keep you logged in, you might not be able to get the View New Posts option. If that's the case, try logging out [at the top right hand side] and signing back in again.

Best wishes

Hi Doddie and Brian,
My computer automatically logs me in and I have no problem clicking on the "View new posts," so that should work regardless. Another way to do it is just to click on the forums that show they have new posts in them (the little icon to the left of the forum title will be a different color). Within that forum, the topics that have new posts will also have a different colored icon. Exactly what it looks like will depend on the board style you have chosen in the board preferences section in the user control panel.

All the best,
Sarah

Hi Sarah and Brian, how stupid do I feel? The 'view new Posts' is as plain to see as the nose on my face. I will go and lie down in a dark room until this tendency to ask such questions passes.

Thanks again

Doddie

Hi Doddie,

I agree with Russell, beside the only stupid question is the one that's not asked. :)
