Hi guys,
I'm quite new to this board and wondered if anyone else has come across the same problem as me recently.
I was searching for certs this morning and found what I was looking for. I downloaded them - but couldn't view them - the system seemed to hang. Logged out and went back on - credits had been reduced confirming that images had been charged for - put the relevant documents into timeline, tried viewing again from both viewed images and timeline - but still can't get the image up.
I did notice last night that it was doing this as well, but after a short while it was okay. It's driving me crazy at the moment as I have tried about a dozen times to view them.
Any suggestions?????
Diane

What's your system setup?, - PC or Mac?
Have a look at your personal profile under "My Details" on ScotlandsPeople, and try changing the viewer, - there are 3 possibilities, - under Application Options/Image Viewers..............

Hi David,
Thanks for the quick response.
The setup is on "activexcontrol" and I did a system check to make sure that it's ok. It came back confirmed.
The weird thing is that I was downloading and viewing images last night - no problem!!! Why would I have problems today when the settings haven't been changed.

If you are still having problems, try switching to "Direct Download", but, also, please, submit a Contact Form on the SP site detailing your recent experiences and the problem.

Hi Diane
I have exactly the same problem with the activex. It does not happen all the time but when it does I have to use ctrl alt del to get out of it because the program is not responding. Then I restart my computer and that seems to fix it for a while. It is a pain in the you know what but I can't figure out what causes it either.

Hi Cathie
You can well imagine the question that I'm going to ask

, - have you submitted a Contact Form on the ScotlandsPeople site

.......
If folk let them know of problems via this route, then the post and the reported problem are reported to GROS, and the contractual payment to ScotlandonLine is adjusted according to the handling of such reported problems...........

Hello David
I did not contact SP because I thought it was a problem with my computer. I have been on SP this morning bouncing back and forth bteween three brick walls and I just came off it to try and get my brain back in gear. I will take take your advise and use the contact form about the activex control.
Thanks Cathie

just for the record, I've been having exactly the same problem for over a week - no problems noted on any other site. I will send a contact form as well.

Just to let you all know, that I have followed David's advice and submitted my contact form to scotlandspeople. At the moment I can successfuly view my images by "download direct", but why should we have to change the habit of a lifetime.
Here's hoping I get a suitable reply
I'll keep you guy's posted.
Diane
