Last UG Meeting

Post by smiddykilry » Thu Nov 30, 2006 4:43 pm

Hi
Any update on this item?
OPR’s (item 6)
Duncan said that this was perhaps the most important piece of on-going work with the
indexing being the major stumbling block. The aim was still to have the OPR’s on
line by the end of the year. Work was nearly complete and the decision as to whether
to release OPR’s Scotland wide, or in tranches would shortly be taken. The creation of
a new index was essential to give precise access to the image sought, but this might
mean customers losing past viewed images.

Dunn, Rough, Smith, Bruce, Paterson, Paton. Wylie,
Stewart, Reid, Gardiner, Rollo, Turner, Dutch, Laing, Forsyth, Robb, Hardie.
Kennedy, Kandow, Winter, Vollum, Hastie.

I can't recall the exact form of wording but, as far as the OPR is concerned the intention was to warn folk that they might lose previous searches, but not images as there haven't been any OPR images so far!

The reason for this is that the images will be accompanied by a completely new OPR index.

Hi David,
Do you suggest we save all our OPR searches to disk? I think I have already done so, but should check. On the other hand, I assume that we'll have to use a credit for another search anyway, in order to have something to click on to get the image...
Regards,
Sarah

That's a good idea in any case!
