Is it just me or is anyone else having bother with Java on SP again?

Know what? I think it's this new phishing duffus on the new verstion of IE that's doing it.

I just turned it off and tried again and the certs came up on Java

I also had problems with the new version of IE. Our computer experts here at out computer club advise against downloading it . I have uninstalled it.

Hi Folks
On one of the regular updates for Windows XP I was invited to download IE7. I thought "wonderful" and did so.
I normally use Google as my search engine and I found that the link to Outlook express was missing, I had difficulties with the Favourites menu, with Scot/people, and perfectly innocent sites that I visit were blocked.
So I dumped it and went back to IE6.

I've downloaded and am using IE7. It is very different in layout to the previous versions, but I think I will stay with it as I am getting used to it.

I'd avoided downloading it, but now that I have, I like it!

The tabbed pages facility is very useful and I've had no real problems so far. My only real issue is that, even though I set the various toolbar positions and then lock them, the next time I open IE7, they are back the way they were!

I'm using IE7 too, and have been doing so for about a month now. It is OK, but I'm not convinced their brains were in gear when it was designed, it seems like a case of :
"What do our users know already? How do they use IE? Ok, then. lets change everything they know and put everything in a different place so they really have to put their brains in gear to use it and have to work out anew how to carry out basic tasks..."

I've been using it for over a month now on a daily basis and I still have to think how to do some things. Ergonomics? Puh, whazzat??? Microsoft seem to have thrown that out with the bathwater.

Must admit, I cannot understand why they haven't put an additional item on the right click menu to open a link in a new tab (like the Open in New Window option). To do it you have to hold down Ctrl and click on the link.

C'mon Microsoft! Basic stuff!

I find it o.k. and don't mind the adding tabs idea but what I do miss is 'find it'. If I had pages to go through it was great to put in the word/words I was looking for and it saved having to scan every page. Perhaps it is still there but it isn't obvious. Can anyone help me with this?

No sign of it in the menus, but as a keyboard shortcut Control F should get you there.
