New Year Thankyou

Post by trish1 » Tue Jan 02, 2007 7:56 am

When I first started looking for my Scottish roots I found the ScotlandsPeople site and its associated forum group almost 3 years ago.

I spent my first 6 pounds (then almost $20AU) for little outcome, so ventured into the forum and asked a question (from what I know today, a really dumb question)

Andrew Paterson answered my question and directed me to the IGI. I didn't know what the IGI was, but was not going to admit this. Fortunately google quickly found it for me & my searching reached a new stage of minimum cost and maximum results.

A couple of weeks ago I had a query on a Church of Scotland minister and Andrew not only answered it, he found the information I needed at the library and transcribed it for me.

So for the New Year I would very much like to thank all those who have helped me with my research - with special thanks to Andrew [cheers]

Trish

I would just like to echo Trish's sentiments.

My research has come on in leaps and bounds since I joined TS, all thanks to the help and effort everyone on here goes to in assisting each other.

As to stupid questions - I've asked a few myself, but the folks on here don't regard any of them in that way. I think they all remember being beginners themselves.

So, to all of you - [pour-drink] =D> [pour-drink] =D> [pour-drink] =D> [pour-drink] =D> [pour-drink] =D> [pour-drink]
