Scottish Naval and Military Academy - Edinburgh circa 1840

Hi everyone,
I recently purchased the very good CD of The Edinburgh
Academy Register 1824-1914, I found on its arrival to
my horror that my 3 x great uncle Peter DODS, nor
where there any other DODS or even any SHIRREFF's!
So I rechecked Peter's HEIC cadet papers, his school
was Scottish Naval and Military Academy - Edinburgh !
So my mistake, I'll now put this cd up for auction at
a local equivalent of ebay & hopefully lessen the cost
of my error.
However my question to the lists is does anyone know
if records for Scottish Naval and Military Academy -
Edinburgh survive for the period around 1840 (Peter
was born in 1828 and joined the HEIC in 1846) or
earlier as I am sure Peter's SHIRREFF uncles also
attended, as they were also in the HEIC, one dieing in
India the other being Peter's sponsor.

Hullo John

I had a wee look at the National Archives of Scotland online catalogue. They have very little under Scottish Naval and Military Academy.

There are letters from a pupil 1841/1842 and Miscellanous Military Correspondance 1856
