Devil's Porridge Museum

Post by Cathy » Thu Feb 17, 2022 7:18 pm

Stanfield, Annan Road,
EASTRIGGS,
Dumfries and Galloway
DG12 6TF

Hello Group, it's been a while.
I have just started volunteering at Devils Porridge Museum.
I've been sent a stinker to research. All I have is a name Florence MacDonald Strang .
I've spent three full days searching every which way.
I have three small possibilities
1900 census IOWA - father John Strang
1900 census OHIO - father William MacDonald
1900 census COLORADO - father John MacDonald.
Any help appreciated.

I didn't know that was still open Cathy, I should add it to our bucket list.

What sort of time scale are we looking at? 1914/18 or WWII?

Do you anything else at all about her? approx. age, married or not years worked there etc.
any wee snippet may well help narrow things down for you.

Hi, thanks for reply.
All I was sent was the name and photo of her dressed in munitions uniform c.1915.
I've tried to attach photo, but I'm a bit thick at this stuff.
I think you can go to their website and look up the name for photo.
I tried looking for wedding ring, but couldn't make one out.
