Hope someone can point me in the right direction. All of my fathers older brothers served in the army in WW2 except one, who joined the navy. He survived the war and settled in England. I have looked for info on Ancestry and Find my Past, but no luck. Can anyone tell me please where I might get info about his service, ships he served on etc? I did grow up hearing he was on a ship that got bombed, but whether that was accurate or not, I dont know.
Any pointers much appreciated.

Hello Lynn,

If he enlisted after 1928 his records would still be held by the Ministry of Defence. It seems they have started the process to transfer these to the National Archives. Info on this page as to how to apply from MOD. https://www.gov.uk/government/collectio ... ce-records

If he enlisted before 1928 his records may already be available from the National Archives. See this page for links to search etc. https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/hel ... fter-1918/

All the best,
Alan
