I would like to know if it is poossible to find details about passengers coming into Scotland from Canada. My Grandmother's first husband took their 3 sons to Canada in 1925 and they returned to Scotland probably sometime before 1930. I would like to try and confirm their date of return.
Any suggestions?
In coming passenger lists Canada to Scotland

Hello Gailm,
This site says: “Neither U.S.A. nor Canada maintained outbound ships passenger lists.”
http://www.olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/outbound/
And this one says “Canada did not keep lists of departing shipss's passengers at any time”
http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/t ... 1179774590
And I can’t see anything here.

If you’re lucky maybe they were on board this beautiful thing.

So unless someone comes up with something things aren’t looking good.

Inwards Passenger Lists
Hello Gailm,
Inwards passenger lists for the UK are held at the National Archives, Kew in piece BT 26.
If you had the name of the ship that transported them or indeed the port they landed at it would help.
Have a look at this guide: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/cata ... fletID=106

Following the project to digitise and index the outgoing passenger lists from the UK, 1890 to 1960 (? re the latter date, - should it be 1950?), TNA records class BT27, it is my understanding that the equivalent UK incoming passenger lists are currently being digitised and indexed, TNA class BT26; and will become available in the not-too-distant future on the FindMyPast.com website.

digitisation
Hi there
According to the National Archives, Ancestry are also digitising "BT 26" and a few other record series :
This is a link to the National Archives Catalogue Projects page which lists the various record series being digitised by genealogy companies :

I think "BT 26" has been on there several months - so fingers crossed we won't have to wait too much longer
