Looking for information on the "Maid of Orleans" of Ardrossan which sank on 1st January 1880. My gg grandfather,James Hourston, was the ship's master at the time. Are there records of crew etc available as another of my ancestors was a member of the crew but not at the time the ship sank.
thankyou
Fiona

Re Maid of Orleans.
Hi Fiona
Looks like there has been more than one ship with this name i found a James Hudson Apprentice -- Maid of Orleans 1867-1868 Ardrossan.
Good luck.
Hugh.
