The Ben Line.Death at sea.
I'm trying to trace a relative of mine who died at sea.His name was Harold Sutherland sailed with the Ben Line and i think died in the 1940's.He was buried at sea.Any information on how to find Harold,much appreciated.David.

David, I have been trying to find out more about my Great Grandfather who was washed overboard off the ship Hector in the Bay of Biscay in 1899.
I found his death in SP's Marine Register in SRI Deaths. The extract has to be ordered as there is no image, but mine even gave the Latitude and Longitude of the incident.
You could try the Department of Trade; I think I remember seeing something about them being involved where there was a death at sea. Lloyds of London also might be able to help.
