Where to start ?

Post by Heather » Sat Jun 09, 2007 11:07 pm

A sailor in my tree.

Not sure where to start looking and would appreciate a point in the right direction.

Have one : Peter McMath. In 1912 he is listed on his young wife's death registration as a 'Seaman Merchant Service'. Peter's home was in Greenock.

Would anyone know if there is a listing of Merchant ships that may have sailed or been based in Greenock at this time ?

Thanks in advance :o)
