Book on Thomsons of 'Croftindaker', near Knockando

Post by BakeryHill » Thu Nov 26, 2020 1:26 am

I have just completed editing a family document created by a distant relative about our Thomson family that lived in Croftindaker, the family croft, near Knockando, Ballindalloch.

The document, which I've now edited into a book complete with pictures, covers the 1800s and 1900s, and describes what life was like at Croftindaker, the family croft that grew over time to cater for growing families and generations. It then follows those Thomsons who emigrated to countries afar, including Australia and South Africa. A Canadian line of descent will be added in a revised edition.

I intend to self-publish the book, which is 155 pages long, though if there is enough interest I will offer it through various outlets like Amazon. Self-publishing usually results in more expensive copies, but if I can get interest in 25+ copies it brings the price down. I'll register an ISBN for the book as well.

If you or anyone you know has an interest, please contact me here or jason.nitz@gmail.com
