Can anyone tell me if the Mitchell wuld hold records for Lothian Police?

It would most probably be Lothian & Borders Police archive, Edinburgh City Library, or even NAS.........

Ask the SGS in Edinburgh ??............

Hi there
I emailed Lothian and Borders Police who gave me the email address of Edinburgh city archives.:

richard.hunter@edinburgh.gov.uk

He was able to send me information about my grandfather. It contained date of entry/promotion through ranks/sick leave/attendance etc which was exactly what I was looking for.
