Occupation?.....

Post by Dennis » Fri Jul 01, 2005 3:02 am

It looks like it reads 'Traveller for Flap' ?

Was there such a job?

I'm uploading the death cert for James Hogg Drysdale as I can't make out his job, nor that of his dad, nor his mom's maiden name.

Hi Dennis,

My thoughts are:
  • James Hogg Drysdale, Traveller for Flax
    Robert Drysdale, Damask Weaver (deceased)
    Elizabeth Drysdale, ms Smeaton (deceased)
There's an LDS submission entry on the online IGI for Jean Drysdale, born 15-Dec-1797, christened 22-Feb-1798 Dunfermline, daughter of Robert Drysdale and Betty Snedon that I would say has a good chance of being a sister of James.

All the best,

Andrew Paterson
