I wondered if anyone had any ideas on this occupation. Waiter & weason lair inland Rwenue(I presume this should be revenue).

Hi Lesley,

Yes, but I checked it on sp and it does look like that. Its from the 1871 census. Its Stephano Belli (again), his place of birth is shown as Italy, on Ancestry it is Parmoor (no such place) but on sp its not very clear.

Woul his birthplace be Palma. I think there would be a place of this name in Italy.

Palma's in Majorca (Spain) but Parma, as in ham or violets, is in Italy.

I think Stephano was Waiter & Messenger in Inland Revenue, and was from Italy, Parma.
